Tabula Ethica AI draws its name and inspiration from the Tabula Rogeriana, a 12th-century map created by al-Idrisi for King Roger II of Sicily, a masterpiece of science, collaboration, and vision. Much like that map unified knowledge from across cultures to navigate the physical world, the same spirit guides this work through the ethical landscape of artificial intelligence.
The Tabula Rogeriana remained a significant reference in both the Islamic world and Europe for centuries. It demonstrated that humility, curiosity, and collaboration could produce knowledge far more enduring than domination or control.
In today’s world of rapid technological change, this legacy reminds us that mapping the unknown, whether physical or digital, should be done with care, conscience, and collective wisdom.
